Cassava’s rising demand for use as food, animal feed, and industrial purposes encourages farmers to increase production. Improved fertilizer practices are necessary to provide. cassava with nutrients needed to produce higher yields, increase farmers’ income, and reverse soil degradation.

Wheat crown rot is a fungal disease that results in significant economic loss in Morocco and in wheat-growing areas around the world. The disease causes the heads of wheat plants to turn white and die prematurely. Efforts to control crown rot have been limited by a poor understanding of the interacting factors associated with crop management and disease development, especially the benefits of balanced nutrition.

Olives are one of the most important fruit crops in Morocco. The country’s fruit production has nearly doubled in the last ten years. But this higher production is mainly due to increased tree planting as yields remain low. Nutrient deficiencies and imbalanced fertilization remain a primary constraint to higher yields. IPNI cooperated within a study that evaluated current farmer practices for 36 olive orchards.

Our Fun with the Plant Nutrient Team activity books (Book 1 Grades K-1 and Book 2 Grades 2-3) were written to help children better understand what the soil needs to be healthy in order to provide us with healthy foods.

Placing plant nutrients in or on the soil faces all the challenges of immobilization, leaching, volatilization and other loss processes. Improving nutrient use efficiency by applying plant nutrients directly onto the foliar is an attractive, potentially environmentally friendly and increasingly popular strategy.

December 14, 2018 - Peachtree Corners, Georgia, USA - The members and the Board of Directors of the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) voted this week to undertake a major organizational restructure which will include the transfer of key scientific assets and programs to The Fertilizer Institute (TFI), Fertilizer Canada and the International Fertilizer Association (IFA).

2018 presented the complete range of seasonal conditions across the Australian grain production regions. It is difficult to summarise all the issues as they were so variable - from completely failed crops in parts of New South Wales, to crops cut for hay in Victoria and very good yields in areas like the Victoria and Tasmanian High Rainfall Zone, Lower Eyre Peninsula and parts of southwestern Western Australia.

O IPNI Brasil foi convidado para participar do 90º aniversário do Departamento de Ciência do Solo da Universidade de Viçosa, em Minas Gerais – uma das faculdades de Agronomia mais reconhecidas do Brasil. Dr. Luis Prochnow, fez uma palestra intitulada "Agricultura com Base em Evidências".

O IPNI Brasil esteve presente no 6º Encontro de Adubação de Pastagens realizado em Ribeirão Preto, SP. O evento atraiu um grande público, de cerca de 600 pessoas, provindas de vários estados, constituído principalmente de agricultores, agrônomos, industriais e pesquisadores.

November 30, 2018 - Gurgaon, India - Dr. Kaushik Majumdar, vice president of IPNI Asia and Africa programs, and former director of IPNI South Asia program, was inducted as Fellow of the Indian Society of Soil Science in recognition of his “outstanding research and education contributions in plant nutrition, and achievements in better understanding of potassium dynamics and site-specific nutrient management in sustainable smallholder agriculture.

In this webinar, Dr. Kuan-Chun Lee gave an overview on the P&G independent smallholder program of improving their agricultural practices and productivity, and the collaboration program with IPNI and other partnerships to achieve their objectives.
