4R Nutrient Stewardship Communications Guide and Illustrative Diagrams
IPNI has developed a communications guide to describe the terminology related to the 4R Nutrient Stewardship concept. A consistent terminology can assist with nutrient management education and research programs.
The 4R Nutrient Stewardship concept defines the right source, rate, time, and place for fertilizer application as those producing the economic, social and environmental outcomes desired by all stakeholders to the plant ecosystem. We encourage the use of these pieces in a whole-system context, as a part of the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Identity Standards Reference Guide (registration required).
